Berlin. Jul-Aug ’13

I have to admit I was one lucky girl to be able to spend the summer in Berlin looking after a gorgeous little boy called Anton. Berlin in the summer is a very special city: the days are long and hazy and you can cool off and buy an incredible ice cream on pretty much every corner. My experience of Berlin was less clubs and bars and more city parks and playgrounds! Lots of long walks and bumpy bike rides along the canal. In a bizarre burst of creativity whereby I wrote four songs (! It was really good to get out of the city too: I took a day trip to Leipzig, I visited my friend Sophie and stayed at her home deep in the countryside, took a couple of trips down to Schlactensee lake and also had a day meandering around Dessau gaping at the Bauhaus architecture. My summer in Germany was the perfect remedy to a mad capped, sleepless and stressful year!

And to my little family in Berlin, I will miss you so much but hopefully will see you next year! Thank you. Thank you for everything.
